State Sen. Liz Brown to chair Probate Code Study Commission

STATEHOUSE (July 13, 2023) — State Sen. Liz Brown (R-Fort Wayne) will serve as chair of the Probate Code Study Commission and as a member of several other study committees in preparation for the 2024 legislative session.

Brown's other assignments include:

"Technology is changing the way we live at a fast pace, and it's important for legislators stay up-to-date on how these changes are impacting the way we live, learn and conduct business," Brown said. "I'm pleased to be serving on the commerce and technology study committee, where we will be reviewing the risks, challenges and opportunities associated with artificial intelligence. We will also be reviewing issues related to consumer data privacy and security, which I'm happy to say will build on the progress of my Senate Enrolled Act 5 from this session that provides important consumer data protections for Hoosiers."

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
