State Sen. Aaron Freeman (R-Indianapolis) made the following statement today following Gov. Mike Braun's video on Public Question 1:
STATEHOUSE (Oct. 21, 2026) – "During the upcoming election, Hoosiers will see Public Question 1 on their ballot, which would change Indiana's bail procedures by allowing judges to deny bail to repeat violent criminal suspects.
"Earlier today, Gov. Mike Braun shared a video, which provides background on why Public Question 1 is important for Hoosiers to consider, what impact the amendment would have and how judges have specific factors to consider when determining bail thanks to Senate Enrolled Act 2.
"I appreciate Gov. Braun for recognizing the importance of this issue and the hard work of the General Assembly, including State Sen. Eric Koch, State Rep. Chris Jeter and myself, in passing legislation to keep Hoosiers safe and end the revolving door of crime in Indiana."
