FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 21, 2026) — State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) was presented with the Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Indiana Legislator of the Year on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Sen. Goode has shown his dedication and support through thoughtful engagement on health care issues. He has authored two bills, Senate Bill 60 and Senate Bill 383 which would reinforce his belief that APRNs are essential to improving access to care – especially for Hoosiers in rural and underserved communities.
"It is a great honor to be a part of the needed change within Indiana's health care system," Goode said. "I look forward to working with CAPNI and my colleagues in the General Assembly to find ways to improve health care access in Indiana."
CAPNI's mission is to promote, advance, support and advocate for APRN practice in Indiana. This includes the roles of a certified nurse midwife, clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner. Their mission closely aligns with Goode's goals, and his leadership and willingness to act on behalf of Indiana's patients and health care professionals is what led him to receiving this award.
"We thank Sen. Goode for his dedication to improving access, supporting Indiana's health care workforce, and advancing better outcomes for Hoosiers across our state," CAPNI member Darla Berry said. "His leadership reminds us that real progress happens when Hoosiers work together – with integrity, collaboration and the determination to make life better for our neighbors."
Goode encourages residents of Senate District 38 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Goode can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Goode or by phone at 800-382-9467.
