Sen. Crider welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (April 21, 2023) – State Sen. Michael Crider (R-Greenfield) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in March and April.

  • Chase Scott, from Greenfield, attends Greenfield Central Junior High School
  • Rebecca Sheridan, from McCordsville, attends Geist Montessori Academy
  • Sophia Smith, from Cumberland, attends St. John Lutheran School
  • Susanna Smith, from Cumberland, attends St. John Lutheran School
  • Delaney Watson, from Shelbyville, attends Shelbyville High School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"It is always a pleasure to meet with students from our district and teach them about the legislative process," Crider said. "The page program allows these students the opportunity to see the process from a different perspective, beyond the classroom. Thank you to these students for taking the time to visit the Senate."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
