STATEHOUSE (April 19, 2023) – The following local students served as Senate pages at the Statehouse in March.

  • Griffin Owens, from Scottsburg, attends Scottsburg Middle School (Pictured with State Sen. Chris Garten (R-Charlestown))
  • Brooks Swank, from Scottsburg, attends Austin High School (Pictured with State Sen. Chris Garten (R-Charlestown))

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"The Senate Page Program offers students a rewarding experience that enhances their education beyond the classroom," Perfect said. "I urge Hoosier students to consider visiting the Statehouse to learn about how our state operates."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
