Indiana awards $10 million in arts, cultural grants

Friday, October 9, 2020

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch recently announced that 479 arts and cultural organizations throughout the state will be receiving a share of $10 million in grant funding through the CARES Act.

The Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) and the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) have partnered in distributing these funds to help provide economic support to local organizations whose normal operations have been disrupted due to COVID-19. These grants will help preserve and sustain the events and organizations that contribute to the character and health of our local communities.

While certain businesses in Indiana have been able to stay open and remain operational through the past months, the tourism industry has been hit hard. This funding will help these organizations and venues weather the current storm until we can all safely return to the fun and interesting places we love to visit.

Art and culture are what make our communities unique, inspiring new ideas and creating opportunities for friends, families and neighbors to enjoy all that the Hoosier state has to offer. By supporting these local organizations, we can assure that Indiana keeps its character and charm.

Grant applications are still being accepted until Dec. 31. Click here for more information or to apply.
