STATEHOUSE (Oct. 28, 2026) — Communities in Senate District 38 will receive nearly $2.2 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 38, the following communities received grants:

  • Brazil received $249,137.19;
  • Clay County received $352,955.39;
  • Farmersburg received $722,400;
  • Seelyville received $118,849.60;
  • Shelburn received $61,748.45;
  • Sullivan County received $352,224; and
  • Terre Haute received $317,497.55.

"The Wabash Valley has seen significant economic development in recent years, and having modernized roads can help attract new businesses and residents to the area," Goode said. "This grant program allows communities across the state to have skin in the game so that the 'Crossroads of America' remains open for business."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 12,500 receive an 80%/20% match, while counties with populations greater than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 12,500 receive a 50%/50% match.
