STATEHOUSE (Oct. 28, 2026) — Communities in Senate District 39 will receive nearly $3.4 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Eric Bassler (R-Washington).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 39, the following communities received grants:

  • Bicknell received $303,199.20;
  • Daviess County received $297,368.80;
  • Greene County received $322,450;
  • Jasonville received $62,256;
  • Knox County received $242,120;
  • Linton received $331,577.60;
  • Martin County received $163,320.80;
  • Owen County received $593,368.38;
  • Sullivan County received $352,224;
  • Vincennes received $219,911.25;
  • Washington received $344,980.84; and
  • Worthington received $140,908.

"The Community Crossings Matching Grant Program provides our local communities with the funds they need to ensure our roads are well-maintained," Bassler said. "I am pleased to see communities in Senate District 39 taking advantage of this great program."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 12,500 receive an 80%/20% match, while counties with populations greater than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 12,500 receive a 50%/50% match.
