Bray: General Assembly kicks off 2024 session

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 21, 2023) — Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.

Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2024 session will conclude on or before March 14.

"Last session, we tackled many high-priority agenda items such as passing a balanced budget, improving mental and public health care services and streamlining local housing development," Bray said. "As we continue to monitor the impact of these policies, I look forward to returning in January to continue working on other important issues like literacy and workforce development."

As the 2024 session gets underway, Bray encourages residents of Senate District 37 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Bray can be reached via email at Senator.Bray@iga.in.gov or by phone at 800-382-9467.
