Zay speaks at March for Life rally in Indianapolis

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 23, 2024) – State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington) spoke at the March for Life rally at the Statehouse Monday, Jan. 22.

"Indiana has long been a state that protects and values human life from conception up until the natural end," Zay said. "I have and always will stand as a strong advocate when it comes to protecting babies and helping expecting mothers in Indiana. During my time in the Senate, I have proudly supported and authored legislation that strengthens this protection, including my support for Senate Enrolled Act 1 from the 2022 special session, which banned most abortions in Indiana, and a bill that I authored for the 2024 session, Senate Bill 98, which aims to provide expecting mothers with more financial support."

In August 2022, Indiana became the first state to pass new legislation to protect the lives of unborn children after the United States Supreme Court overturned the Roe v Wade case with its Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization decision.

"I am honored to have had the opportunity to speak at the March for Life rally, and would like to recognize all of those who attended in support of our efforts to end abortion and protect life," Zay said. "I am extremely proud to serve as a senator for a state that values life and protects it at all costs. I look forward to further discussing ways we can protect unborn babies and support mothers in this great state that we call home."
