Zay: 2020 Golden Hoosier Award nominations open

STATEHOUSE (May 5, 2020) – Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, in collaboration with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Division of Aging, recently announced that nominations are now being accepted for the 2020 Golden Hoosier Award, said State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington).

Since 2008, the Golden Hoosier Award annually honors Hoosiers who are 65 or older for their lifetime of service and commitment to their communities. Specific requirements include the person must currently be an Indiana resident and has been a volunteer in their community for the past three years.

"There are plenty of outstanding individuals in Senate District 17 who are worthy of this award," Zay said. "If you know someone who meets the requirements and has shown passion serving their community, I encourage you to nominate them for the award."

The deadline for submitting applications is June 30, and you can access the electronic nomination form at www.in.gov/lg/2532.htm. Details about the ceremony honoring those selected will be forthcoming.
