On Jan. 3, the Indiana General Assembly will reconvene for the 2018 legislative session. Throughout session, legislators gather testimony from industry experts, stakeholders and others as bills are considered and move through the legislative process. While this information is valuable, the feedback senators receive from the people in their districts is the most important when bills are considered for votes.

Statewide, senators have sent out a survey newsletter to many of your homes. Filling out this survey gives you an opportunity to answer important questions on issues that are expected to be addressed this session.

Since this upcoming session will end on or before March 14, it’s crucial to fill out the survey quickly and return it by Jan. 15. The survey is also available online by going to www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/senators and finding your senator’s page.

Along with the survey, there are many other ways you can stay informed and voice your opinion during the legislative session. Be sure to sign up to receive your senator’s e-newsletters, which are sent weekly and provide a brief update on the topics being discussed. You can sign up by finding your senator’s page at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/senators.

You can also visit www.in.gov/iga to view legislative proposals, watch committee hearings and Senate sessions live, and track legislation through the entire process.
