Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) made the following statement today on behalf of the Senate Republican Caucus regarding the weekend protests across Indiana:
STATEHOUSE (June 1, 2020) – “Over the weekend, we saw many peaceful protests across our state in the name of justice and reform stemming from the tragic death of George Floyd. Unfortunately, the message of these powerful, peaceful protests is being overshadowed by the actions of a few who caused far too much damage and destruction in Indiana over the weekend. One of our most sacred rights we have as American citizens is the right to assemble peacefully and make our voices heard. As a caucus, we support the governor, our law enforcement agencies and the peaceful protestors working for positive change.”
