Statement from State Sen. Michael Crider

State Sen. Michael Crider (R-Greenfield) made the following statement today regarding the coronavirus, COVID-19:

STATEHOUSE (March 16, 2020) — "As the situation continues to develop, state legislators and officials continue to engage in ongoing conversations on how we can best protect Hoosiers against the coronavirus.

"As someone who has worked in emergency management before, I have a great deal of respect for those who are actively working at the federal, state and local level to find solutions that safeguard our state's health. I strongly encourage Hoosiers to rely on credible sources for information released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; the Indiana State Department of Health; and the Marion, Hancock and Shelby County Health Departments.

"The Indiana State Department of Health encourages Hoosiers to contact their health care provider if they experience a fever, cough, shortness of breath, have a recent history of travel to areas affected by COVID-19 or contact with someone who has been diagnosed with it.

"In addition, the Indiana State Department of Health has a 24-hour toll-free number, 877-826-0011, that Hoosiers can contact if they have questions or suspect they have contracted COVID-19."
