Statement from State Sen. Jim Tomes regarding the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) made the following statement regarding the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session:

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 27, 2026) – "The 2026 legislative session has concluded, and I am happy to see Senate Republicans pass our priorities along with many more important bills for Hoosiers.

"This session, I was happy to author and pass bills to protect our shooting ranges from strict regulations that would risk shutting them down and to study the feasibility of establishing urban microfarm zones across the state.

"I also worked on efforts to urge discussion on how to ensure prompt responses and effective government within state agencies for Hoosiers who need help.

"I always try and make myself available for my constituents to contact me and voice their concerns and struggles, and I will continue to do so throughout the interim."
