STATEHOUSE (Oct. 28, 2026) — Communities in Senate District 26 will receive nearly $2.8 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Scott Alexander (R-Muncie).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 26, the following communities received grants:

  • Albany received $297,541;
  • Chesterfield received $575,738;
  • Daleville received $209,441.60;
  • Delaware County received $344,935;
  • Gaston received $118,320;
  • Ridgeville received $128,582;
  • Union City received $257,251.20;
  • Winchester received $292,354.40; and
  • Yorktown received $558,031.28.

"These matching grants will be incredibly beneficial to our communities, especially those still recovering from the severe flooding we experienced in August," Alexander said. "It is critical that we fund our local infrastructure projects to make transportation safer and our roads more durable for those that use them every day. I look forward to the improvements and relief these grants will bring to our communities."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 12,500 receive an 80%/20% match, while counties with populations greater than 55,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 12,500 receive a 50%/50% match.
