FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Braun's 2026 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 14, 2026) – "It was encouraging to hear the governor speak about Indiana's economy and our GDP growing faster than the surrounding states.

"I also enjoyed listening to his remarks on the state police and all the accomplishments they have made over the past year and thanking them and our Indiana National Guard for all they do for our state and nation.

"I am very pleased to hear he is working to lower child care costs and making child care more affordable for Hoosiers.

"I look forward to continuing to work with Gov. Braun and his administration to achieve even more for Indiana."
