State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus) is calling on Gov. Braun to temporarily suspend tax on gas to help provide relief for Hoosiers and made the following statement today:
STATEHOUSE (April 8, 2026) — "Today, I am standing with Sen. Holdman to urge Gov. Braun to suspend the gas tax in Indiana, which will be a real way for Hoosiers to feel a weight lifted off their shoulders.
"Affordability is the top issue for our community right now, and I am consistently hearing from my constituents about their struggles with the rising prices of everyday items, especially gas. Thanks to years of fiscally conservative leadership at the Statehouse, I believe this is something we can afford, and I think it will provide meaningful relief for our citizens. "
