Statement from Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray 4.10.20

Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) made the following statement today on the latest updates from Gov. Holcomb regarding the state's COVID-19 response:

STATEHOUSE (April 10, 2020) – “There’s no question this virus is taking a serious toll on Hoosiers' health, but it is also having a huge impact on our economy that we have yet to fully realize here in Indiana and around the entire country.

“Indiana’s surplus was designed to help our state weather a storm like the one we are now facing, and while it’s reassuring to know it puts us in a better financial position than many other states, we need to get our economy back on its feet.

“Like the governor, my caucus members and I agree we need to look toward what our economic recovery efforts will need to be when we are able fully unleash the power of Indiana’s workforce.

“That said, it is still critical for Hoosiers to heed the governor’s instructions to stay home in order for us all to get to the other side of this pandemic more quickly and get our state back to work.”
