State Sen. Scott Alexander to serve on study committees

STATEHOUSE (June 28, 2024) — State Sen. Scott Alexander (R-Muncie) will serve as a member of several study committees in preparation for the 2025 legislative session.

Alexander's assignments include:

  • Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary;
  • Interim Study Committee on Education;
  • Interim Study Committee on Government; and
  • Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation.

“Interim study committees are a great opportunity for legislators to learn from experts and make informed decisions in preparation for the next session," Alexander said. "I’m looking forward to working on each of these committees and studying issues such as improving school attendance and educational outcomes for students. I visited every school in my district last summer, and I am always hoping to find ways to help our education systems improve."

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
