State Sen. Chris Garten to vice chair
Administrative Rules Task Force

STATEHOUSE (Aug. 23, 2022) — State Sen. Chris Garten (R-Charlestown) will serve as vice chair of the Administrative Rules Review Task Force in preparation for the 2023 legislative session.

This task force was created by Senate Enrolled Act 264, authored by Garten, to study the administrative rules, fees and fines of any state agency under the governor's office.

"I am pleased to vice chair this committee, as it is important to hold state agencies accountable for their actions," Garten said. "Applying checks and balances has protected the rights of Americans for nearly 234 years, and this task force reinforces government responsibility at a state level."

In addition to his role as vice chair of the Administrative Rules Review Task Force, Garten will also serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation and the Legislative Continuity Committee.

“Continuing research on topics that impact Hoosiers is integral in making informed policy decisions and ensuring a greater quality of life in our communities," Garten said.

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
