Slager, Dernulc invite constituents to legislative update meeting Saturday

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 14, 2024) – State Rep. Hal Slager (R-Schererville) and State Sen. Dan Dernulc (R-Highland) invite constituents to attend a legislative update meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 in Schererville.

The public meeting will be held at the St. John Township Community Center located at 1515 U.S. Highway 30 in Schererville.

"Meetings like this give communities an opportunity to discuss important issues with their state lawmakers," Slager said. "I hope to hear from local constituents about their thoughts on the various bills moving through the legislative process."

The Indiana General Assembly is currently in session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis and must complete their work no later than March 14.

"I encourage members of our community to attend and learn more about how we have been working for Hoosiers during the first half of session," Dernulc said. "We work for the public and this is an excellent opportunity to hear from locals on what we can do to better serve the community during the second half of session."

For those unable to attend the meeting, constituents can contact Slager at h15@iga.in.gov or 317-234-2993 and Dernulc at Senator.Dernulc@iga.in.gov or 317-232-9400. To follow the legislative session and track bills, Hoosiers can visit the Indiana General Assembly's website at iga.in.gov.
