Senate Republicans offering policy internships

Monday, September 25, 2023

The Senate Republican Caucus is looking for college students and recent graduates to intern for its internship program during the upcoming 2024 legislative session, including policy intern.

Policy interns work with the policy team in the Senate Republican Communications Office to analyze legislation throughout the legislative process.

The policy office also conducts legislative and policy research, writes memos on legislation, reviews written communication for accuracy and attends committee hearings throughout session.

The policy internship is ideal for, but not limited to, any student seeking a political science, public policy or law degree.

Senate internships are open to any college student who is at least a sophomore, recent graduate, graduate student or law school student.

Indiana residents and nonresidents who attend an Indiana college or university can apply.

The internship is a full-time position at the Statehouse that generally starts with a mandatory orientation in late December and concludes at the end of the legislative session in March 2024.

Interns earn a $900 biweekly stipend, gain valuable experience they can use on a resume, and can potentially earn college credit.

The deadline to apply for a position is on Oct. 31.
