Sen. Tomes welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (March 10, 2023) – State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in February.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"It is always a pleasure to meet the young people who participate in the Senate Page Program," Tomes said. "Our program provides students an excellent opportunity to meet the senators representing them at the Statehouse and learn about the legislative process. I truly enjoy being a part of this valuable experience."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
