Perfect Named Chair of Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 28, 2017) — Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-Fort Wayne) today named State Sen. Chip Perfect (R-Lawrenceburg) chairman of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Financial Institutions.

“It’s a distinct honor and tremendous responsibility to be named chair of a committee,” Perfect said. “I look forward to bringing my business experience and the lessons I have learned about legislative leadership from my fellow lawmakers to the Senate Committee on Insurance and Financial Institutions.”

Long cited Perfect’s business experience and voice of reason as some of his qualifications for the position.

“Sen. Chip Perfect has become a respected voice in the Indiana Senate and brings a wealth of successful business experience and expertise to his new role as the chair of the Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee,” Long said. “Chip has proven that he is ready for this new responsibility, and I am delighted that he has agreed to accept this important assignment.”

Perfect will assume the duties of the chair immediately.

The Indiana General Assembly will reconvene Jan. 3 for the 2018 session.
