STATEHOUSE (April 14, 2023) — Communities in Senate District 43 will receive more than $5.4 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Chip Perfect (R-Lawrenceburg).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $1.27 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 43, the following communities received grants:

  • Aurora received $302,688.05;
  • Greendale received $500,267.48;
  • Jennings County received $1 million;
  • Lawrenceburg received $120,372.75;
  • Madison received $649,993;
  • Ohio County received $930,667.59;
  • Scott County received $987,516.48;
  • Scottsburg received $312,017.54;
  • Switzerland County received $499,066.86; and
  • Vevay received $112,326.75.

"With Senate District 43 neighboring Ohio and Kentucky, making sure our communities have high-quality roads is important in ensuring Hoosiers, tourists and businesses can travel safely," said Perfect. "I am pleased to see our local leaders take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to seeing the positive impact this funding will have on our local communities."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive a 75%/25% match, while counties with populations greater than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 10,000 receive a 50%/50% match.

The CCMG offers two rounds of applications each year, with the next call for applications occurring in July of 2023.
