Leising: Statehouse Leaders Speak at Agriculture Ceremony

STATEHOUSE (March 22, 2017) – State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg), State Rep. Don Lehe (R-Brookston) and Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch addressed Indiana farmers and members of the agriculture community during a National Agriculture Day ceremony at the Statehouse Tuesday, March 21.

Leising spoke about Indiana’s agriculture accomplishments, highlighting the state’s rank in egg and turkey production.

Indiana ranks third in the United States in egg production and fourth in turkey production, according to the latest Indiana poultry production data.

“Our success is the result of hard-working Indiana farmers,” Leising said. “I am proud of the accomplishments these dedicated people have made.”

Leising, Lehe and Crouch were recognized by Indiana’s Family of Farmers, a group representing grain, produce and meat producers, during the ceremony.
