With the heat of summer already here, Hoosiers will be using a bit more energy in the weeks ahead to stay cool.
This year, a new program launched by the Indiana Office of Energy Development looks to help Hoosiers across the state find ways to save on their utility bills.
The Indiana Energy Saver Program was created to help lower utility costs in Indiana while providing Hoosiers comfort in their homes.
This new program will help reduce the upfront costs of eligible energy efficiency upgrades to Hoosier homes through two separate programs.
The Home Efficiency Rebate will provide funding for ENERGY STAR-certified heating and cooling systems, ENERGY STAR-certified water heaters, insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, appliances and lighting.
Additionally, the Home Appliance Rebate will provide funding for heat pump water heaters, heat pump HVAC systems, heat pump clothes dryers, electric ovens and electrical system enhancements.
Applications for the program are now open, and I anticipate many Hoosiers across the state will apply for the program. If you would like to apply, visit IndianaEnergySaver.com.
As always, constituents can reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email at s48@iga.in.gov or by phone at 1-800-382-9467.
