Buck to chair Senate Committee on Local Government

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 8, 2022) – State Sen. Jim Buck (R-Kokomo) has been reappointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as chair of the Senate Committee on Local Government for the 123rd Indiana General Assembly.

Buck will also serve on the following Senate committees:

  • Environmental Affairs;
  • Homeland Security and Transportation;
  • Judiciary;
  • Rules and Legislative Procedure; and
  • Veterans Affairs and The Military.

“It is an honor to be serving as chair of the Senate Committee on Local Government for another session," Buck said. "I always look forward to hearing from Hoosiers and my fellow lawmakers on ways we can improve our communities and great state."

The 2023 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 22. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 9.
