BALDWIN PRESENTS HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 9: State Sen. Scott Baldwin (R-Noblesville) presents House Concurrent Resolution 9 to the Indiana Senate Thursday, Jan. 11. The resolution asks for the support of every Hoosier to help reduce veteran suicide and urges the governor, House of Representatives and Senate to consider legislation to support the lives of Hoosier veterans who have fought diligently to defend our freedoms.
"According to the U.S Department of Veteran Affairs, an average of nearly 17 veterans die by suicide each day," Baldwin said. "I want nothing more than to reduce that number nationally and in the state of Indiana.
"The brave men and women who fought for our country should not have to fight this issue alone. That is why I chose to be the Senate sponsor of this concurrent resolution and why I will continue to support and propose legislation that offers mental health assistance to veterans."
