State Sen. Kyle Walker: Listening to Our Community

Throughout my time as your state senator, I have championed legislation to support my constituents, the communities in my district and every Hoosier.

In 2021, I sponsored legislation to create the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force, which traces and shares information on firearms used in violent crime and helps bring violent criminals to justice quicker. These efforts by the task force have kept the counties they serve safer, including Hamilton and Marion counties.

During the 2025 legislative session, I spearheaded a measure to benefit Fishers residents by changing the state's local income tax distribution formula to ensure the City of Fishers a more equitable share of local income tax revenue.

Last year, I also authored legislation to modernize charitable gaming laws to support the fundraising efforts of Indiana's veterans groups and fraternal organizations that aim to strengthen their communities and members.

In the 2026 session, I authored a bill that codifies the foster youth bill of rights into law so Hoosier foster youth are aware of their rights and protections and ensures they have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

It has been an honor to serve Senate District 31, and I encourage you to contact me with any questions or comments you may have by filling out a "Contact Me" form online or by phone at 800-382-9467.
