Zay recognized for perfect voting attendance

STATEHOUSE (June 30, 2021) — State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington) was recently recognized for not missing a floor vote during the 2021 legislative session in a report done by The Club for Growth Foundation.

The group tallied all floor votes taken in the Indiana General Assembly from Jan. 25 to April 22. According to the club, they generally don't analyze why a lawmaker has missed a vote, but publishes the information for educational purposes.

"When I was elected, I took an oath to serve Senate District 17 to the best of my ability," Zay said. "I do not take my duties for granted, and making sure I'm present to vote in the Senate is a critical piece of serving the Hoosiers in our part of the state. I pledge to continue to serving my constituents by actively participating in the people's business."

The study showed there were a total of 450 senate floor votes - Republican senators on average missed 3% of votes and Democratic senators on average missed 9%.

The Club for Growth is a national network of over 250,000 pro-growth, limited government Americans who share the belief that prosperity and opportunity come from economic freedom.
