Zay: Indiana Connectivity Program Expanding Broadband for Hoosiers

STATEHOUSE (Oct. 16, 2023) — The Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) recently announced that 140 homes and businesses will be receiving high speed internet access through the Indiana Connectivity Program, said State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington).

The program was created in 2021 through Senate Enrolled Act 377, which Zay authored. The law required OCRA to establish the Indiana Broadband Connectivity Portal for Hoosiers to request broadband service. Once service is requested, internet providers can submit bids for a Rural Broadband Grant to bring service to that person's address.

"Reliable broadband access is important in supporting Indiana's quality of life and evolving business environment," Zay said. "I am pleased to see how this program continues to help Hoosiers gain access to much needed internet service."

Separate from the Connectivity Program, Huntington County is moving forward with a plan to expand internet access through another state grant program. To learn more about the county's efforts, click here.

"I commend our local leaders who have worked hard to ensure that Huntington County is ahead when it comes to broadband expansion," Zay said. "This is a top economic development issue for rural communities across Indiana, which is why it has been a strong focus of mine."

Hoosiers without reliable internet access can request service by submitting their information to the Connectivity Portal in one of the following ways:

  • Call 833-639-8522
  • Mail to the following address -
