Zay: Huntington Commissioners Approve Funding for Markle Park Fundraiser

STATEHOUSE (Oct. 5, 2023) Huntington County Commissioners approved a $10,000 gift to Markle Fish and Game Club Park's Patronicity Fundraiser on Monday, Oct. 2, said State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington).

The park will use these and future funds to improve the ballpark, swimming pool, sound stage and other park amenities.

"The Markle Fish and Game Club Park is where the community comes together to enjoy the outdoors and spend time with family and friends. Enhancing the park is crucial to the success of Markle, especially when it comes to tourism," Zay said. "I'm glad the community will have an opportunity to improve the park. I commend those who volunteer their time and efforts to further develop our community's infrastructure."

The Markle Fish and Game Club is a nonprofit organization funded by an endowment. The club is working hard to raise at least $50,000 to qualify for a matching grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. There is still some time left to reach their goal. Donations can be made here.
