STATEHOUSE (Nov. 21, 2023) — State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.
Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides members of the Senate and House of Representatives with the opportunity to meet before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2024 session will conclude on or before March 14.
"I am eager to get back to work and represent Senate District 49 at the Statehouse for this coming session," Tomes said. "I remain committed to creating legislation and policy that will improve the lives of Hoosiers in our state."
