Although the Indiana General Assembly is not in session during the summer and fall months, legislators are still hard at work. There are many ways you can stay up to date with the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus. Here are some online and offline resources for you to learn more and connect with your state senators.
Sign up for e-newsletters. Each Indiana state senator offers a free subscription to regular e-newsletters from the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus. These often include information on what’s happening at the Indiana Statehouse, new laws or initiatives that may affect you, community events and recent economic trends. To sign up for these e-newsletters, go to our website, find your senator from the drop-down menu and enter your email address. Our office never distributes your name or email address. Visit the Statehouse. The Indiana Statehouse offers free tours every weekday, excluding holidays. This is a great opportunity for you and your family to get a closer look at the historic building and learn more about Indiana’s history. Get social media updates. The Indiana Senate Majority Caucus maintains an active social media presence. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Flickr. We encourage our readers to add their input and share their news, so don’t hesitate to leave us a comment or send us a message on these sites.
Stream committees live. During the summer and fall, the Indiana General Assembly prepares for the next legislative session, which begins in January. Senators participate in committee hearings throughout the interim on a wide variety of issues like education, agriculture, health care and the environment.
