Statement from State Sen. Vaneta Becker regarding the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State Sen. Vaneta Becker (R-Evansville) made the following statement regarding the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session:

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 27, 2026) – "As another legislative session comes to a close, there are a few important bills that have passed I would like to highlight.

"Recently, we have seen an increase in troubling instances of doxxing, putting individuals and their families in danger. I authored a bill that defines doxxing and makes it a criminal offense in Indiana. Doxxing is the intentional posting of personal information about a person, or someone closely associated with them, with the intent of threatening them or harming them or their property.

"I also sponsored a bill that will help lower high utility costs around the state, which has been something Hoosiers' have been especially struggling with.

"I am looking forward to speaking with our community over the interim to address more concerns from my constituents during the next legislative session."
