State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Eric Holcomb's 2023 State of the State address:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 10, 2023) — "In his State of the State address this evening, Gov. Eric Holcomb highlighted his goal to again increase funding for K-12 education.
"This boost in funding would allow school districts across the state to increase teacher salaries and help tackle the shortage of educators across Indiana. Having good teachers in the classroom is important to keeping Hoosier families in Indiana and attracting new families to the state.
"I am encouraged to see Gov. Holcomb support more funding for K-12 education during the 2023 legislative session and will support efforts to make sure our students, teachers and schools remain the top budget priority."
State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) represents Senate District 22, which includes
Carroll County and portions of Tippecanoe County.
