State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) made the following statement regarding
the 2024-2025 IREAD assessment:
STATEHOUSE (Aug. 14, 2025) – "I am incredibly proud to see Indiana's 2024-25 IREAD assessment results for third graders showing an impressive 5% increase in literacy rates across the board.
"I want to take a moment to recognize our teachers whose hard work made these incredible scores possible. Their work fosters a bright future for Hoosier students who are learning to read now and will be able to read to learn for the rest of their lives. The support for science of reading curriculum and financial investments in literacy initiatives have proven to be a wise investment of resources.
