Statement from State Sen. Jeff Raatz

State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) made the following statement today in response to
Gov. Eric Holcomb’s 2024 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 9, 2024) – "As chair of the Senate Committee on Education and Career Development, I was pleased to hear the governor interested in a number of education and workforce development initiatives.

"I am authoring legislation that would help improve literacy skills in Indiana by strengthening retention efforts for students who did not pass IREAD or are at risk of not being proficient. By ensuring students have the fundamental reading skills, we are setting them up for successful futures.

"While this is one of my priorities for the legislative session, I also look forward to considering bills that would address other concerns our state and communities face."
