Statement from State Sen. Jean Leising

State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) made the following statement regarding the announcement of READI 2.0 recipients:

STATEHOUSE (April 12, 2024) – "Yesterday, the recipients of the Indiana Regional Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) 2.0 were announced, and I am pleased to see the initiative shown by all of the counties I represent and the city of Batesville in putting together plans to improve the quality of life for their residents.

"Decatur, Rush, and Shelby counties, as well as Batesville will benefit from $30 million awarded to Accelerate Rural Indiana, while Franklin and Ripley counties will benefit from $10 million awarded to the Southeast region, Jennings County will benefit from $30 million awarded to the South Central region, and Fayette County will benefit from $35 million awarded to the East Central region.

''Whether it be through improving housing options, education opportunities, infrastructure, and childcare, or investing in natural resources and cultural amenities, I am certain these funds will make a major difference in the lives of my constituents.”
