STATEHOUSE (July 30, 2022) – "I have long valued the sanctity of life and wholeheartedly believe this bill should go further to protect unborn Hoosiers by prohibiting access to abortion. As Senate Bill 1 currently stands, I cannot offer my full support and I am unhappy with the lack of protection for unborn life within our state.
"While I was poised to vote no today, I view my 'yes' vote as an opportunity for the Indiana House of Representatives to abolish abortion and an act against the pro-choice agenda. Abortion should never be used as a solution; it is the problem."
