State Sen. Gary Byrne (R-Byrneville) made the following statement regarding the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session:
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 27, 2026) – "The General Assembly officially concluded the 2026 legislative session today. We accomplished a lot of good for the state of Indiana, including rooting out waste, fraud and abuse in Indiana's welfare programs.
"I also championed legislation that would require public schools to incorporate success values into their curriculum, improve oversight of library budgets and crack down on illegal immigration in our state.
"During the interim, I will continue to meet with my constituents and fellow lawmakers to ensure that I am doing all I can to represent Senate District 47."

which includes Harrison and Washington counties, and most of Floyd County.
