State Sen. Gary Byrne (R-Byrneville) made the following statement following the conclusion of the 2023 legislative session:
STATEHOUSE (April 28, 2023) – "I am proud of the work we were able to accomplish this year, especially the progress made on preventing irreversible gender transition procedures on minors, ensuring parental involvement in our children's education and protecting Hoosier youth from obscene and pornographic material in school libraries.
"I was also pleased to author Senate Enrolled Act 414, which helps residents struggling with failing septic tanks install a reliable and alternative residential onsite sewage system on their properties.
"These initiatives, along with passing another fiscally conservative and balanced budget, are setting up our state for a bright future. I was pleased to represent Senate District 47 officially as an elected official and look forward to continuing to address Hoosier needs."
