State Sen. Eric Bassler (R-Washington) made the following statement regarding the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session:
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 27, 2026) — "The General Assembly officially concluded the 2026 legislative session today. I am pleased with all that was accomplished this year, including passing two priority bills that would crack down on waste, fraud and abuse in our welfare programs and withhold bail from dangerous criminals.
"As I move on to the next chapter of life, I am thankful to all who have supported me over the past 12 years, and I am grateful to have been entrusted with the duty of representing Senate District 39 at the Statehouse. My office will continue to be open and available to constituents, and I encourage Hoosiers of Senate District 39 to reach out if we can be of assistance."
