Statement from State Sen. Ed Charbonneau

State Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-Valparaiso) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Eric Holcomb’s 2023 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 10, 2023) – "I am pleased to see Gov. Holcomb's leadership in improving Indiana's public health system. As reflected in the three priority bills I am bringing this session, I hope to implement some of the governor's vision from his Public Health Commission this session.

"Senate Bill 4 would help promote collaboration between our state and local health departments, while also improving the quality of services performed. The goal is to be able to create a healthier workforce and raise our health rankings.

"Senate Bill 6 would ensure that insurance claims are appropriately paid based on the location of the services provided, which would help Hoosiers save money on medical bills.

"Senate Bill 8 would require pharmacy benefit managers to pass the rebates they receive for prescriptions on to patients, ensuring that those savings go to the person or plan purchasing the medicine.

"I look forward to working with my fellow legislators on the Senate Committee on Health and Provider Services this session to improve Hoosiers' health rankings in Indiana."
