FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
State Sen. Dan Dernulc (R-Highland) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Braun's 2026 State of the State address:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 14, 2026) – "It was great to hear Gov. Braun bring so many important topics to the forefront of discussion in Indiana, especially affordability and public safety, subjects that reflect a few of my own legislative priorities.
"In addition to the governor's priorities and our caucus's priorities, I am working on a number of important topics including changing the three-way permits in Schererville, addressing increases in utility costs from NIPSCO, helping expand efforts to prevent human trafficking and child grooming, helping those suffering from substance abuse disorders and establishing a pilot program for the rounding of Lake County local taxes.
"We have a lot of work to get done in a short amount of time, and I look forward to the discussions on these topics in the coming weeks."
