Senate Majority Floor Leader Chris Garten (R-Charlestown) made the following statement regarding Meta Platforms Inc.'s $800 million investment in a new data center in Jeffersonville, Indiana:
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 25, 2024) – "Indiana has become a top economic leader in the nation thanks in part to our business-friendly and innovative environment and the increased availability of skilled labor, which has set many communities, like Jeffersonville, up for economic development.
"Jeffersonville has been fortunate to receive two $800 million investments for the River Ridge Center in over four months, one from Canadian Solar in October 2023 and another – now – from Meta. There is no doubt that our community is a place for economic prosperity and opportunity.
"I commend the River Ridge Center for their unyielding efforts as they partner with our community and the state to accomplish such a significant project, and I look forward to seeing how this critical investment further stimulates the economy, supports local Hoosiers and attracts more talent to the area."
