Statement from State Sen. Aaron Freeman

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

State Sen. Aaron Freeman (R-Indianapolis) made the following statement today in response to
Gov. Mike Braun's 2026 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 15, 2026) – "I enjoyed hearing the governor highlight about Indiana's recent accomplishments in his State of the State speech tonight.

"I am especially proud of the work that the Indiana State Police has done to crack down on drug trafficking, and I'm grateful for the governor's support of my legislation to withhold bail from the most dangerous suspects.

"As chair of the Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law, I am dedicated to addressing public safety throughout the state, and I look forward to working with my colleagues and the governor to keep Hoosiers safe."
