FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
State Sen. Aaron Freeman (R-Indianapolis) made the following statement regarding the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session:
"SEA 2 serves as companion legislation to Senate Joint Resolution 1, which would establish a constitutional amendment for Indiana allowing bail to be withheld from certain dangerous suspects if Hoosiers support the initiative at the ballot box this fall.
"This session, I also authored Senate Bill 250, which would have prevented Hoosiers under 21 from purchasing hemp-based THC products, closed the 'farm bill loophole' and aligned Indiana's hemp policy with the Federal government. While the House of Representatives did not move SB 250 forward this session, as chair of the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law, I will continue to advocate for the safety of Hoosiers through legislation like SEA 2 and SB 250.
